Problem Statement

As part of the ENGN1931D (Design of Mechanical Assemblies) course, we built a low-cost, safe, and effective pneumatically powered potato cannon. The goal of this project was to improve upon existing DIY potato cannon designs, which featured dangerous combustion and muzzle-loading aspects. With a bolt-action “Pee Wee Potato” loading mechanism and an easy-to-use bike-pump compression chamber, the new potato gun is family-friendly while still maintaining the same entertainment value.
